Tate Modern is located on the south bank of the River Thames at Bankside, SE1 9TG. Its collection is housed in two main buildings, the Natalie Bell Building and the Blavatnik Building, connected by the Turbine Hall. Navigating Your Visit
Getting Here
By Tube: The nearest station is Southwark (Jubilee Line), a 10-minute walk. Blackfriars (District and Circle Lines) is also close, just across the Millennium Bridge.
By Train: Blackfriars and London Bridge are the closest mainline stations.
By Bus: Routes 40, 63, and 100 stop on Blackfriars Bridge Road. Route 381 stops on Southwark Street.
By Boat: The Tate Boat runs between Tate Modern and Tate Britain. Other services stop at Bankside Pier, right outside the gallery.
What to See
The collection is arranged thematically across the Natalie Bell and Blavatnik buildings. Don't miss the monumental Turbine Hall installations. Key artists to look for include Picasso, Rothko, Dalí, and Warhol. The viewing level on Level 10 of the Blavatnik Building offers stunning 360-degree views of London (check for opening status).
Gallery Facilities
Shops: Several shops offer art books, prints, and unique gifts.
Cafés & Restaurant: Multiple cafés and a restaurant provide options for a quick coffee or a full meal, many with excellent views of the Thames and St Paul's Cathedral.
Lockers: Available on Level 0 for small bags. Large luggage is not permitted.
Toilets & Baby Changing: Facilities are available on every floor.
