Exhibition Tickets & Concessions

Entry to the main collection is free. For special exhibitions, find out who is eligible for free or reduced-price tickets.

While Tate Modern's permanent collection is free for everyone to enjoy, tickets must be purchased for major temporary exhibitions. Tate offers a generous range of concessions to ensure as many people as possible can experience these world-class shows. For more on planning your visit, see our visitors guide.

How to Book

All exhibition tickets, including free and concessionary ones, should be booked online in advance to guarantee entry with a timed slot. When booking, simply select the appropriate ticket type for each member of your party.

For Tate Collective members, you will need to log in to your account to access the £5 ticket price. For other concessions, be prepared to show your supporting documentation (e.g., disability benefit proof, student card, Jobseeker's Allowance letter) at the entrance to the exhibition.

Tickets FAQ

Your questions on exhibition entry.

Do I need a ticket for my baby?
Children under 12 get free entry to exhibitions, but you should still book a free ticket for them as part of your group to help the gallery manage capacity.
How do I join Tate Collective?
If you are aged 16-25, you can sign up for Tate Collective for free on the official Tate website. It gives you access to £5 exhibition tickets and other discounts.
Can I buy a concession ticket on the day?
It is sometimes possible, but major exhibitions often sell out completely. We strongly advise booking online in advance to avoid disappointment, regardless of your ticket type.
