Facilities and Services

For Visitors with Mobility Needs

All entrances are step-free, and there are lifts to every floor. Accessible toilets are located throughout the building. A limited number of wheelchairs and mobility scooters are available to borrow for free; booking in advance is recommended. There are also accessible parking spaces which can be booked 24 hours in advance.

For Blind and Partially Sighted Visitors

Large-print guides are available for exhibitions. Tate also offers audio-described tours and touch tours for specific displays, which should be booked in advance.

For Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Visitors

Induction loops are fitted at all ticket and information desks. British Sign Language (BSL) tours are available for some exhibitions and collection displays.

Quiet Room

A quiet room is available for neurodiverse visitors or anyone who needs a calm space away from the galleries. It is located on Level 4 of the Natalie Bell Building.

Step-Free Access

All entrances have ramps or level access, and lifts provide access to all floors of the gallery.

Assistance Dogs

Guide dogs, hearing dogs, and other recognised assistance dogs are welcome throughout the gallery.

Companion Tickets

Visitors with a disability can bring a companion or carer for free to any paid exhibition.

Sensory Support

A quiet room is available, and ear defenders can be borrowed from the ticket desks. Some artworks may feature flashing lights; warning signs are posted.

How do I book a wheelchair?
You can book a wheelchair or mobility scooter in advance by calling the ticketing team on +44 (0)20 7887 8888. This is recommended as availability is limited.
Are there accessible toilets?
Yes, accessible toilets are available on every floor. A Changing Places toilet is also available on Level 0.
How do I book accessible parking?
You must book accessible parking spaces at least 24 hours in advance by emailing [email protected] or calling the number above.
